I'll comment here for anyone reading in the future.
A few of us ended up leaving the team and moving onto a new server project called Aftermath. At the same time a lot of the admins also had to stop playing due to real life commitments. So the server dropped of quite dramatically quickly unfortunately.
Last I know, the server was closed. I know that Blasto had interest in keeping it going, but I know he's been busy in RL, so I'm not sure. I can say that If you're interested in the new server Cesta, Mindbust and I started, check the link below.
The server has been open for a few months now, with a current population of about 80-100 players. Any former Rising players reading that want a place to play, feel free to come over. We'd love to have you.
Its very frustrating to invest the time into unlocking Jedi and then to have everyone leave the server. I finally got the picture after a week went by and I seemed to be the only person logging on. I would be cautious to follow to another server because if they do it on this one, they will do it on the other one as well.

After Cesta, Mindbust, Chani and I moved off, the rest of the admins had control of the server. You speak like we just left it to die. There were still 4 or 5 admins around at that point. It was out of our control and not on us that the server went the way it did, so please don't act like the server was left without anyone on it and we're at fault. A few guilds also left the server at the same time as us by complete coincidence due to toxicity in PvP slashing the numbers down. Again, out of our control. After that the server never recovered its numbers from its peak. That being said, people can get busy and RL is more important. So the other admins could have easily had bigger concerns going on in their real lives.
The server was also designed with no long term philosophy because everything was too easy, so people got bored quickly and left (feedback we received). This meant the server peaked quickly and dropped of fast. We have learnt from this and it's one of the main reasons a few of us moved over to a new project.
Writing your post like it is our fault though just isn't correct. When we left the server, it was at its peak for population. I can understand being frustrated about losing progress, but it literally took like 4 days to unlock a Jedi on rising, it wasn't hard in the slightest. The server being shut itself again, was out of our control. One of the admins who stayed behind had control of the server payments and the server itself, not any of us that moved onto Aftermath.
In regards to Aftermath closing, we have no plans whatsoever. That server is much more grounded and uses a fresh code base. We designed the server from the start to be balanced and much better overall. Which we believe it is. Everything has to be earned and we already have nearly double the amount of players on Aftermath than Rising had at its peak.
